Our talented Visitor!

Image
In March we had the pleasure to receive Craig, a talented film editor who wanted to come and use his skills to highlight some of the problems faced here in Brazil, and to film about some of the work we do here to help.  It was an intense week of filming and trying to give Craig a feel for Brazil. We got to know Craig more which was great. One of the stars of the films was Beto who was in his element! ( he wants to be famous!) the films also star the wonderfully cute Tess. We filmed several films and they will be released slowly over the next few months to be played on every Facebook page, Church big screen, school, Business staff room that we can get it in! So watch this space! P.S A huge thank you to Craig for all his hard work and his family for allowing him to come! We really appreciate you and think you are fab!

The Project Jose Boys House

Image
You may remember that a while back we talked about the house we wanted to build for the Project Jose boys. Boys who had to leave Hope House because they had turned 18, but were not ready to live independently yet. The house would accommodate boys from Project Jose, enabling them to live at a reduced rate whilst finishing their schooling and working part time within the project.  Tony's ministry of mentoring these boys is still going well and we have seen some real maturity growing in some of the boys in the last few months. Tony and the boys have been working on the house and it is near to completion.  Thank you to all who have prayed and given to this house enabling the boys of Project Jose to be supported as they become independent adults. one of the bedrooms with  built-in shelves  living room

Big Brazilian Birthday!

Image
Last week Teresa turned One! We had a fairly normal day as it was a work day. We did manage a few presents and a candle in a Mango (.. my oven was broken and she likes Mango.. so why not?!) Then on Saturday we had the big Brazilian Birthday! Brazilian custom is to celebrate the first birthday with a big party, like an 18th or something! So we decided to be Brazilian a go a bit bigger than we would have normally. It was nice to celebrate surviving our first year of being mum and dad to Tess! We made it a Rainbow theme and Tess loved all the colours. It was a lovely afternoon and so nice to see all of our friends who have been with us and supported us on this journey as we became parents. Here are some of the pictures. "Look! This one is all the way from Bolton!"   This girl loves bread The birthday Mango Beto and his biscuits Tess and Gustavo The 2014 babies and their wonderful Mummies!
