With Open Arms

Founded in 2015, With Open Arms is a Brazilian Charity which was started by three families who saw the need for a wider provision for vulnerable children in the area where they were working. The charity works closely with the local government and is the only facility available to shelter girls, babies, young boys or siblings in this municipality. It is awarded a small grant each month by the local government who cannot provide this service for themselves. However this is insufficient funding to cover the costs of running the home. We also work in partnership with a local church. The Charity strongly believes in encouraging as much as possible the partnership of Brazilian nationals. Our staff team consists of volunteers from the States, Switzerland, UK and Brazil. Our paid staff of house parents, psychologists, social workers and cook are all Brazilian.
