The history...
Since 2002 we have been researching and
working with projects which aim to help street children. Although institutions
are necessary and have their place, we believe that often the best place for a
child to grow up is within a family.
In Recife, Brazil, where we have been working since 2011, there are many children living on the streets, and many more living in abusive homes. Violence, rape and murder are all too frequent.
From our experience it is almost impossible for these children to turn their lives around alone. Many of them are in and out of shelters but never find any permanent support to guide them through.
For many of these children the opportunity to live in a healthy family could transform their lives. One day we hope to be a family to children like these.
